Summertime was my favorite time growing up. The freedom of exploring outside and the shade of the trees on hot days are core memories from my childhood. The dogwood trees would burst with blooms in spring then shift to showcase their shiny leaves as summer came closer. This original painting is 30 x 40 inches on stretched canvas, painted with thick, textural layers of acrylic paint. Depending on where you stand, you will see different details.

Description
Sunny days spent playing under shade trees and seeing the rows upon rows of dogwood trees in bloom inspired this artwork. The sensation of looking through the branches of a tree while sitting inside it was created by carefully adding multiple layers of paint, color by color. I used many different techniques to apply the paint with brushes, scrapers, found objects and dripping /splattering. The intuitive painting process results in a unique piece that cannot be reproduced.
This painting is part of a series of inspirational world trees. A statement piece, it fits well on a wall at least three feet wide and four feet tall.
Sold unframed. Local delivery within a 25 mile radius of Atlanta or current location if at a show.
Custom orders and commissions are available to create one of a kind works in this series and theme. Prints on paper, canvas and metal in various sizes available upon request.
