The work I create explores the energy of life and themes of hope, power and change. I am inspired by memories and emotions. Gestural strokes apply paint with a variety of palette knives, brushes and found objects. I scratch into layers, scrape with palette knives, and add lines of solid color. An expressionist artist, I’ve made North Georgia my home for over twenty years. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida State University. I see every day as a chance to create hope and make the world a better place.
The journey of creating a piece and the unexpected twists, turns and final outcome are also a mirror for what life is like. I paint a lot of mountains, florals and horses because of the hope, strength and resilience they represent to me. I work from a limited palette range, usually apply alternating layers of warm and cool colors as I go, adjusting to the energy expressed by the work.
I’m available for commissions, live painting events, and creativity coaching workshops. Other questions? Contact me and let’s chat.
