Green and Teal Willow Tree, Childhood Friend, 30 x 40, original painting, acrylic on canvas

$1,200

Looking back on memories from my childhood, I was often sent to go play outside. I was a bit of a loner as a kid, mostly because there often weren’t other kids to play with besides my brother. One summer I was sent to my grandparents by myself and I would spend hours with the lone willow tree. It was also abandoned and yet it was firmly rooted, strong and defiant, shady and full of life.

Description

When I was young I sometimes spend summers visiting my mom’s parents. They had a willow tree in their backyard. There were no nearby kids for me to play with so it was just me and that tree. I swung from its branches, told it my secrets and day dreamed. Multiple layers of paint were applied with different techniques by me using brushes, scrapers, found objects and dripping /splattering. The intuitive painting process results in a unique piece that cannot be reproduced.

This is the fourth painting in a series of inspirational world trees. A statement piece, it fits well on a wall at least three feet wide and four feet tall.

Medium: acrylic on gallery stretched canvas Size; 30 inches wide x 40 inches high, traditional (7/8 inch) depth.
