A glowing yellow sun rises over the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I got up at 3am in my cabin, then hiked out onto a rocky ledge looking over the north rim of the Grand Canyon a few minutes before dawn. Standing on a narrow overlook with a minimal metal rail, I saw the glow appear in the east over the hills and slowly move, changing the deep blues, purples and browns of night into oranges, tans and lighter purples and browns in the canyon. This small painting has a standard wrapped edge that is painted on the sides, so it can be shown with or without a frame.
