Creating an almost life size hand painted horse

Creating Ceru the hand painted wood horse

Wow it’s been so much fun being a part of the Crescent Farm Cup, a virtual horse race fundraiser for HistoryCherokee.org. Together our group of 15 artists raised over $5000 for the center. It’s not over yet! I have an original Wild Spirits painting and the wooden horse, Ceru up for silent auction this weekend. I post my most frequent updates on Instagram (@lsjart), so stay tuned for more leading up to and during Derby Day.

Watch the “Making of” video

I put together a short (under 4 minute) video showing how I prepared and painted Ceru the horse. If you’re looking for the satisfying joy of watching paint being applied in multiple colors, this is the video for you.
