Description
The first time I saw a deer up close I was horse back riding in the woods and suddenly came face to face with a doe. She was as startled as we were and for a moment, we were suspended in time, not sure what we would do. This painting was inspired by the antics of a doe who was running through my neighborhood one morning. She stopped and tensed, about to spring out of a yard and across the road. I was lucky to capture a photo of that moment.
