Description
One day after teaching a class at Local Color Studio, I had too much paint left over on my palette. Instead of throwing it away I used the leftover paint as the first layer for this work. I added intuitive marks and shapes to the canvas with all types of mark making tools. I experimented with metallic flow acrylics and alcohol inks. As final layers I added thick brush strokes of briight color then added emphasis to butterflies, roses, winding vines, plants and dragonflies by tracing them with a white acrylic pen. The creativity, freedom, and excitement of being in my own studio in a shared maker space was what inspired me to create a painting full of symbols of life, change and growth.
