Description
Study for Tree Songs #212 was inspired by woods I’ve walked through at dusk on many hikes. There is something mysterious about the woods at dusk or in the twilight of the evening. This is part of a series of intuitive paintings using layers of loosely painted acrylic colors applied with brushes and palette knives to capture a reflective mood. Instead of working directly from a reference, I create sketches in a notebook first and then paint from memory.
Materials: Artist quality acrylic paint on gallery-wrapped stretched canvas.
