Description
I was walking my dog one morning and was struck by the overwhelming abundance of blossoms on a stand of dogwood trees. This was the inspiration for Study for Tree Songs #411. This is part of a series of intuitive paintings using layers of loosely painted acrylic colors applied with brushes and palette knives to capture a reflective mood. Instead of working directly from a reference, I create sketches in a notebook first and then paint from memory.
Materials: Artist quality acrylic paint on stretched canvas.
